- Council: Bundaberg Regional Council
- Fund: Regional Capital Fund
- Category: Cultural, Sports and Recreational Infrastructure
- Round: 2
Major sporting competitions, community events and business conferences will be attracted to the Bundaberg region by the new facilities made available in Stage 2 of the sports and community centre, bringing economic benefits from increased tourism and expenditure.
Stage 2 of the Bundaberg Region Multi-use Sports and Community Centre will deliver a 1500m2 sports/civic hall, community function rooms, commercial kitchen, café, male and female amenities, and entry foyer and lobby.
The new hall will have capacity for approximately 2000 people seated theatre style or 1000 banquet style. When complete, the centre will be a place where community programs can be delivered, as well as increasing its capacity to serve as Bundaberg’s primary functioning evacuation centre, improving emergency management coordination through consolidation of services and improving access to support in times of need.
Stage 2 builds on the facilities at the Bundaberg Sports and Community Centre that are being delivered under Round 1 of Building our Regions.
