Roma airport’s upgraded runway will cater for more than 40 flights a week, meeting current and future air traffic needs, as well as supporting emergency services for remote locations in the Maranoa region.
This project will lay down a 15m wide centre strip of 150mm thick asphalt and undertake all line marking and runway shoulder works.
Under CASA regulations, the current runway can only accommodate approximately 16 flights each week, which falls short of demand from regular commercial and private aircraft operations, and aero-medical and other emergency services.
