Biomedical Industry and Health Innovators Forum

The Biomedical Industry and Health Innovators Forum in Bokarina, Sunshine Coast on 21 September 2017 will provide information and advice on the Queensland and Australian Governments' business support and funding programs for biomedical and health businesses, researchers, entrepreneurs and organisations.

A range of expert advisors from the Queensland Department of State Development's Biomedical Sectoral Team, the Australian Government's Entrepreneurs' Programme and Advance Queensland's innovation program will provide information about how to access advice, support and programs to help drive business competitiveness and innovation including the translation of research into commercial products.

Speakers will provide up-to-date information on the following areas, answer your questions and join a networking session at the end of the program:

  • The Queensland Government's new Queensland Biomedical 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan and its $4 million program to support and attract biomedical enterprises will be explained by the Director, Biomedical Sectoral Team.
  • Expert advisors from AusIndustry will provide insight into how start-ups, researchers and organisations can access business advice and support under the Entrepreneurs' Programme—including mentoring, business evaluation, and the sourcing of finance and innovation connections. Speakers have experience in advising a diverse range of businesses and researchers from medical technologies, pharmaceuticals and complementary medicines through to digital innovations and professional services.
  • The Queensland Government's wide range of Advance Queensland programs and support for businesses, innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs will also be clarified by the Director for Engagement and Insights.
