Official opening of the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre

Coomera Indoor Sports Centre was officially opened on Friday 5 August 2016, as the first of three new venues being delivered for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).

The Coomera Indoor Sports centre, which boasts 8 mixed-use sports courts and a gymnastics arena, was delivered more than 18 months before it is needed to host the netball finals and gymnastics competition for the GC2018.

The Department of State Development has overseen the delivery of the project to ensure this new world-class facility not only meet the needs of the GC2018, but provides a valuable piece of community infrastructure for the fast growing Coomera region.

Already the venue is proving to be a hit with the locals, with significant events booking fast including the three day schools volley ball competition that was held from 5-8 August 2016, attracting hundreds of competitors from all around South East Queensland.
