Retraining or upskilling

Learn more about your eligibility for free or subsidised training and how to find a training course or training provider.

Back to Work

The Back to Work program assists jobseekers and those at risk of unemployment to upskill and retrain for jobs across Queensland. The program is available in regional Queensland and in selected South East Queensland locations.

Recognition of prior learning

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) recognises the skills and knowledge gained through work and life experiences to reduce the time it takes to get a qualification.

TAFE Queensland

Receive Recognition for Prior Learning

At TAFE Queensland, you can fast-track your way to a formal qualification by receiving recognition for the study you have completed or the skills you've gained from the workplace. This means less study time for you and being qualified a whole lot sooner. We can directly apply credits from previous successful study and assess your skills to give you recognition.

Support Services

Uniting Care, Centacare and Lifeline are organisations that provide a wide range of free services including mental health support.

Uniting Care

Uniting Care provides information, support and advocacy to assist people in financial difficulty. The service is funded by the Queensland Government and is free, independent and confidential. Uniting Care assists clients to understand their options and plan a way forward to get back on their feet.

Financial counsellors are available to assist individuals - Phone 3253 4000.

Queensland Financial Resilience Program

The Queensland Financial Resilience Program can help you build your financial future. This program is tailored to suit your needs. Good Shepherd now offers a local service committed to providing support to individuals and families to improve their financial wellbeing and resilience. Financial Resilience workers are available to you across 20 locations.
