Acciona

Spanish multinational conglomerate, Acciona, has partnered with the Queensland Government, through CleanCO, to deliver one of the largest onshore wind farms in the world. The AUD$1.96 billion MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct will be located approximately 40 kilometers south-west of Warwick on land predominantly used for sheep farming.

The project is expected to generate 1,026MW of wind power and will provide a massive boost to Queensland’s economy with local spending expected to exceed $500 million. Up to 400 local jobs are expected to be created during construction with an additional 240 jobs created for the construction of a 64 kilometer transmission line. There will be around 14 fulltime jobs once the site is fully operational.

The McIntyre Wind Farm Precinct is one of 12 wind farms that have been approved by the Queensland Government since 2018.
