Future Infrastructure: Private Investment

Investment in infrastructure unlocks, focuses and accelerates growth in key industries, and builds the liveability of our communities for generations to come.

Queensland’s infrastructure priorities and opportunities for private sector investment in infrastructure are set out in our State Infrastructure Strategy.

The Future Infrastructure: Private Investment discussion paper ( 940.0 KB) highlighted opportunities for private-sector investment and detailed Queensland Government infrastructure strategies to promote investment opportunities.

The discussion paper identified:

  • specific infrastructure investment opportunities that:
    • have strong potential and private-sector investment interest, and
    • support key Queensland Government priorities (e.g., growing our future economy).
  • government levers and support mechanisms available to facilitate private sector investment in infrastructure
  • emerging investment themes, including - decarbonisation, circular economy and connecting our regions

Consultation on the Future Infrastructure: Private Investment discussion paper has now been finalised.

Queensland new-industry opportunities provides more information on how Queensland is bringing together community, government, industry and private-sector stakeholders in a place-based approach.
