Projects in the delivery phase are infrastructure commitments and activity over the next four years. Planned projects include investment proposals that are at a planning stage. These are currently being assessed by Queensland Government. All proposals in planning stage are subject to government consideration and final investment decisions.

Health
Mackay Base Hospital expansion
The Mackay Base Hospital expansion will deliver an additional 128 beds to support healthcare for the region, including new beds for paediatric, medical and surgical patients. It will deliver more acute, sub-acute, women’s, children’s and neonatal services closer to home.
It also includes a new multi-storey cark park with more than 1,000 spaces to support the expansion, helping more people access the healthcare they need.
Transport
Mackay Port Access Road
The Mackay Port Access will provide a direct link for freight movements from the Mackay Port to the Mackay Ring Road, and west to the Bowen Basin coal fields via the Walkerston Bypass and Peak Downs Highway.
The 9.5km, 2-lane access road from the Bruce Highway at Glenella to Mackay-Slade Point Road (Harbour Road), will improve access to the Port of Mackay while addressing urban congestion in North Mackay—reducing travel time and helping more people get to where they need to be.
Health
Moranbah Hospital Redevelopment
The Moranbah Hospital Redevelopment will replace the existing facility, to deliver increased Emergency Department capacity, improved ambulance access, 12 inpatient beds, 22 car parks, and a rehabilitation gym. The refurbished Hospital will integrate allied health, child health, antenatal and postnatal care, and mental health under the one roof, which will improve patient flow and the amenity for staff and patients, delivering better health care for Queenslanders.

Mackay police facility upgrade
The Mackay police facility upgrade will support frontline policing services to deliver safe and secure communities across the state. With a modern design tailored to current needs and future growth, this modern facility will ensure that police services can effectively support and protect the region. Equipped with advanced features and ample space, the station will strengthen frontline services and contribute to creating a safer, more secure Queensland.

Clermont replacement police facility
The new Clermont police facility is being designed with state-of-the-art features and will accommodate current and future staffing levels to ensure a more effective and efficient police presence in the region. This upgraded facility will support frontline officers in their efforts to maintain public safety, ultimately fostering a safer and more secure environment for the community.
