Outcomes and benefits

Since December 2015, the Building our Regions program has allocated funding towards 370 projects that will deliver tangible benefits to regional Queensland communities.

Funded projects are spread across 68 local governments and one town authority and make a massive difference in regional Queensland.

Projects range from water, waste and sewerage to tourism projects, and airport upgrades to flood mitigation projects that unlock real economic development opportunities. Regional communities gain benefits such as:

  • securing water supply
  • increasing flood immunity
  • improving recreational and tourism offerings
  • extending accessibility to remote areas
  • enabling future industry
  • facilitating high-speed internet and telecommunications
  • supporting liveability.
