New Youth Detention Centre
Building Queensland led the development of a detailed business case for the construction of a new 32-bed youth justice centre at Wacol. Developed in partnership with Department of Youth Justice, the business case assessed options to improve conditions for young people in detention and youth detention centre staff, as well as reduce the number of young people held on remand in police watch houses.
The New Youth Detention Centre Detailed Business Case was completed in Q3 2019 and provided to the Queensland Government for consideration.
